Download >Our Tower and Climbing Rescue program comes in two parts, Climber 1 and Climber 2. Both are in line and approved by STAC (The Structure, Tower and Antenna Council). This course is meant for technicians who have to climb and work on telecommunication towers. Custom and on-site training is available for this course.
Tower Training >Gain competency in the thorough examination of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This Petzl course is perfect for individuals who are responsible for equipment and work at height PPE inspections. But, we encourage all technicians to take this course to gain a better understanding of equipment inspection, which ultimately prevents equipment failure on site.
Petzl PPE Inspection >We understand that sometimes you need training for a specific work site or structure. Understanding the rescue procedures, protocols, and equipment for a particular job is important and you may not have someone qualified in-house to run this program. Our training team has helped many companies in this scenario with our custom rescue training. These programs can be completed at our facilities or on site.
Contact us >These skills are required under the IRATA level 2 curriculum.
You need at least 1000 rope access hours and at least 1 year of work experience. All hours must be documented in your official IRATA logbook. Check out our knowledge based to learn more about entering IRATA hours in your logbook.
There are 4 days of training and then a 1 day assessment . There is a third party Assessor, separate from Pacific Ropes, who comes in to conduct your assessment.
Your certification will last for 3 years. After 3 years, you will need to re-do the whole course again.
Unfortunately, sometimes you may need to re-assess because you made a silly mistake or had a brain fart. You are allowed up to 60 days to re-assess. If you wait past 60 days, you will need to take the full four days of training again.
The IRATA course is $2000 plus GST for courses in Edmonton, and $2100 plus GST for courses held in Vancouver. Prices subject to change.

I did my IRATA level 1 here and it was a fantastic experience. The facility is clean and thoughtfully laid out. Most importantly, the instructors were friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful! I love this place and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone thinking of coming here.Big thanks to Josh and Cam for teaching a rope access newbie such as myself how to not die. Also a shout out to Don's husky, who I might dognap (shhh...)
Big thanks to the staff/team at Pacific Ropes. The office admin made everything seem less and were very helpful with questions and concerns. The training provided by Don and Josh was legendary. They made it fun and made sure we learned proper efficient technique and challenged us throughout the week. I would recommend taking the course here and will be coming back for course refreshers or recertifications. I won’t be looking to go anywhere else now that I have found these guys. Pacific Ropes feels like a home away from home now!
Quite a physically demanding course but well worth it! Super supportive staff during well booking. As for the instructors; they are knowledgeable, and patient. They take the time to make sure you have a firm comprehension of the material, as well are willing to work one on one with you to make sure get anything you're struggling with. They bring a great atmosphere and a fun learning environment.
Excellent instructor, excellent facility. Would definitely recommend some research prior to attending a rope access course. Glad I chose Pacific Ropes to train with! I feel remarkably confident after 4 training days with them.
