We are looking for experienced journeyman/woman painters who are passionate about their craft. Pacific Ropes has been working in Western Canada for 14 years as a dynamic general contractor. We operate throughout Western Canada in civil, power generation, petroleum and other industries.
In this role, you'll be joining our team to complete critical painting and coatings work on existing structures and facilities. This may include opportunity to travel, train and update your skillset, and opportunities to grow into other roles/projects.
Ideally you will have:
- Your Journeyman Painter certification (preferred)
- The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- knowledge of safety and an excellent safety record.
- Scissor Lift / Boom lift training (preferred, but training is available)
- Fall Arrest training (preferred, but training is available)
- IRATA Rope Access Certification (preferred, but opportunity for training will be provided to the right candidate).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- initiative in learning and acquiring new skills.
- Organizational and time management skills to ensure projects are completed on or ahead of time.
- A professional manner when interacting with clients, team, and general public.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Physical and mental fitness.
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Performing painting scopes of work to completion and satisfaction of the client and coatings inspector.
- Maintaining personal equipment (company provided) and conducting equipment checks on a regular basis.
- Maintaining and using group work equipment effectively, preventing damage.
- Assisting in set up and take down of personal and group equipment at each job site.
- Assessment of problems and creation of solutions to improve productivity and product quality.
- Responsibility for personal safety and safety of coworkers.
- Adhering to the prescribed method of work for each job.
- Establishing methods to meet work schedules and coordinating work with other subcontractors.
- Attending daily safety meetings to review and sign the required safety plans.
- Understanding the hazards and controls of each job site.
- Completing daily tasks in the allotted time frame.
- Being a positive representative of Pacific Ropes on site to clients and the general public.
- Identifying and reporting to the supervisor any unsafe practices at work and/or any damage.
