As of August 1, 2014, IRATA is implementing a new Training, Assessment, and Certification Scheme (TACS) that applies to all rope access training.
From the IRATA website: "This is the date that its requirements and recommendations come into effect. It is issued early to IRATA members to allow familiarization, so that members can be ready to implement it from 01 August 2014. If you have any enquiries about the TACS, please contact us through our website"
Currently, we are in the audit process for our training centre to become an IRATA Certified Member Company. The IRATA rope access system is the international standards of safe work at height, in which knowledge, management, planning, and proper equipment requirements must be met in order to uphold the professional standards practiced daily and routinely within the industry. For those who need a refresher, the IRATA International Code of Practice (ICOP) explains everything in fine detail. It is strongly recommended that the new IRATA TACS be used simultaneously with ICOP for best practices.
Stay connected with IRATA through their social media channels, which serves as a valuable resource loaded with info. If you're on the market for IRATA training, or dual SPRAT and IRATA certification, check in with us. We've got courses lining up very soon for the fall. Meanwhile, here's a photo of our guys going through various levels of IRATA certification in our new training centre.
